Subsequently, new companies and products appear daily in an attempt to gain a piece of the proverbial pie. On one hand this is a good thing as it drives competition and the development of new products. On the other hand it can be extraordinarily confusing for the grower trying to make sense of it all. There are many fine science and data backed products on the market that will prove beneficial to any grow operation. But there are also a lot of products that are rooted more in science fiction than actual science that will make the manufacturer a lot of money at your expense

     As a serious grower, you need to recognize that the process of promoting optimal growth of a plant is similar to conducting a symphony orchestra. Your job is to bring all the various instruments (environmental conditions, nutrient levels, lighting variables, pest and disease control, etc.)  into perfect harmony. Easier said than done! And to complicate the picture – there is no one right way to do things. You can successfully grow in soil, or soilless mix, or rock wool, or clay pebbles or hydroponically. You can grow “organically” or using conventional water soluble nutrients. You can use HPS lighting or LED or ceramic metal halide. You can grow indoors or outdoors. All can be successful IF – and this is a big IF – you properly choose the supplies that are meant to work together and you properly apply them.

     We debated about whether to set up an “e commerce” site like every other supplier seems to have done. Convenient for you? Yes. But we are not like “every other supplier”. We are a science based resource center for you and your business. We want to be able to talk with you about your product selection to help you make sure that it is the best choice for your plants and your business. We want to be able to give you close personal service if you experience a problem with a purchase. We want you to be able to talk with our science team whenever you need them. We are “old school” (literally: we just celebrated our 150th anniversary!) and believe in one key element – customer service.

     Instead of having an endless list of the products we carry we are going to show you some of the major, science backed products available to you. If we don’t have a product in stock we can probably get it for you or offer you a science backed equivalent at a better price point.
